Exquisite Fishing Beginner Guide
Learn the core fishing loop, earn your first gold, and prepare to leave the Calm Ocean.
Exquisite Fishing begins in the Calm Ocean with the free Regular Old Boat. Catch and sell fish, then spend your gold on the exact hook, gift, and boat combinations required to reach deeper targets and new ocean areas.
Enter the Calm Ocean
Select the Regular Old Boat and begin in the Calm Ocean. This starting area costs 0g and contains documented targets between 50m and 300m.
Practice fishing without spending gold on another ocean.
Cast and Guide the Lure
Throw the lure into the water and guide it toward the depth and target you want. Position the lure close enough for the creature to become interested before beginning the catch.
Avoid wasting a cast on targets that do not match your equipped hook and gift.
Fill the Hook Meter
Keep the target engaged until the hook meter is filled. After the catch is secured, reel the line back to the surface to complete the attempt.
Complete the full catch before changing equipment or leaving the ocean.
Sell Catches for Gold
Sell ordinary fish and valuable special catches through the game economy. Gold is used to purchase hooks, gifts, boats, and access to later ocean areas.
Keep building gold instead of repeatedly attempting an unavailable target.
Target the Calm Ocean Creatures
The Mermaid appears at 50m and is worth 300g with a Diamond Ring and Regular Hook. The Shark appears at 200m and is worth 2,000g with a Good Hook and Striped Pantie, while the Angler appears at 300m and is worth 10,000g with a Box of Chocolates and Regular Hook.
Use the Mermaid as the first simple special target, then prepare the required combinations for the Shark and Angler.
Unlock the Rocky Ocean
Save 1,500g for the Regular Boat and Rocky Ocean access. Before moving on, check the Fishipedia and Fish Report to review discovered catches and identify missing entries.
Enter the second ocean with enough gold left for its target-specific hooks and gifts.

Exquisite Fishing contains four progressively harder ocean biomes. New areas require stronger boats and increasingly specialized hooks and gifts, while deeper targets provide much larger gold rewards.

Match the correct hook and attraction item before casting. Each creature can require a different loadout when it appears in a deeper ocean.
Special creatures only appear when the correct equipment combination is used at the required depth. The same creature may return in later biomes with a stronger hook, a different gift and a much higher sale value.

Build gold by targeting valuable special catches and purchasing only the equipment needed for the next progression gate. Save for boats before buying optional loadouts that do not advance your route.
Fish can be sold for gold, which is then used for hooks, gifts, boats and other shop items. A focused route prevents expensive equipment from delaying access to the next ocean biome.
Start with the Calm Ocean Mermaid
Create a small starting fund without paying an ocean entry fee.
Use the free Calm Ocean to learn the casting and reeling loop before committing gold to stronger equipment.
Upgrade for the Calm Ocean Shark
